To Visit Pat's Garden!
A Robin Redbreast was announcing the morning news early Saturday, June 25, from the top of the tallest Blue Atlas Cedar bonsai.  I don't have a special long lens on my digital camera, but the robins are so friendly, I could get within 20 feet for this shot.  The usual bonsai-hoppers in my yard are cardinals, but they are so shy, I can never get close enough for a picture!
This woodland charmer is the Epimedium 'Roseum' which blooms for a long time in early summer. Next to bloom will be the yellow variation.
The Water Star is new this year, growing in a water basin in full sun. Found it at Linder's in St. Paul. The flower is only nickel-size.
Below - Hostas are the mainstay of my shady yard, and show up in all sizes from the tiniest, unnamed version from Japan to the giant Sum & Substance.
The earliest Hostas are just coming into bloom in late June this year. It makes no difference to them whether they're in the ground or serving as an accent plant in a pot.
