| President Bob Hampel will be doing the honors as auctioneer at the Big Fall Auction Meeting & Sale on Tuesday evening October 4th. Previewing of all items starts by 7:00 PM and bidding in the regular auction begins at 7:30.
Here's your chance to pick up good stuff you've always wanted, and lots of them at low-low prices. There are usually things that someone brought all the way from some far-off state (saving you a trip!). And there are sure to be trees, finished bonsai or raw material, that are being sold because the owners ran out of storage space. This truly is the time to look for bonsai bargains, if you've planned your own winter storage. For tropical fans, there are always indoor species available, so you can practice bonsai skills all winter long. Will you be selling? Don't forget to bring pots you don't need (new or used) - small ones can be grouped in a box for one price. Books, show stands, viewing stones, and of course, bonsai plant material at any stage of development. Sellers: carefully read the rules in this issue. You must come BEFORE 7:00 to have your "stuff" checked-in and arranged in the proper area. There will be the regular auction (on the stage), the silent auction tables, and retail sale tables. On retail sales, the club doesn't take 10% of the sale price as on the auction items. So decide how you want to sell, and fill out your description cards ahead of time and bring them along (see Auction page). |
