| Program chairman Bob Hampel asks: Have you ever wondered why buds form where they do? Or, how and when trees go dormant? Or, why airlayers work? Kala Peebles from the U of M will answer these questions and more. Our March program will be on tree physiology -- that is, how trees work. For years our emphasis has been on the art of bonsai. Now it's time to learn the horticulture of bonsai. A well designed dead tree isn't of much use. Come to the meeting and learn how to keep it alive. Remember the new timetable: Business meeting and announcements start at 7:00, program from 7:30 until 8:30-8:45, and the raffle will conclude the formal meeting. Social time will follow. We ask that vendors and members be quiet and considerate during the presentation. |
