Our December 5th general meeting will begin at 7:00 with a short business meeting to elect next year's board of directors. Please take a look at the ballot now by CLICKING HERE, and there will be printed ballots to cast your vote at the meeting. While we're voting, someone will be setting up our Holiday Feast, much of it brought by you folks.

Here's how the potluck supper works: The club provides trays of meats and cheeses, veggies and dip, buns and bread, plus beverages.  Members provide all the extra goodies - so bring your best homemade specialties, your fancy salad, baked goods, candies or a dessert. Or bring chips and dip, nuts, crackers, or something from the deli that no one else will think of! The more, the merrier!

After we enjoy our first helpings, we'll have an informal auction of donated bonsai stuff, what some call a "white elephant" sale as part of the club's fund-raising efforts. So please bring an item or several - something you don't need but that someone else would love to have. Search your storage places and bookshelves for bonsai pots, accessories of all kinds, books new or used, and plant material (which always generates lots of interest).

President Bob Hampel will also lead a discussion on possibly hosting the MABA convention here in 2010. Be prepared with your questions and to air any concerns you may have. Also be prepared to commit your time and energy to working toward this goal, if we do decide to place our bid with MABA.

Happy
Holidays!
At a master's collection in Japan, winter 2002
Home is where the heart is.

We hope everyone can spend the holidays "at home" this year
and that next year all of our servicemen and women will be back home too.
