From program chairman Bob Hampel:

A pine is a pine, or maybe not. There are many varieties almost all of which have different care, styling, and maintenance requirements.  At our August 7th general meeting, we’ll talk about the common varieties available to us in Minnesota. Learn about the king of trees and how to successfully keep them as bonsai.

STEP UP to help with Fair Show setup, or to work a 3-hour shift on Friday or Saturday at the show. You don't need experience to answer the public's questions, and you'll be surprised how much fun it is and how much you learn by joining fellow members at the Fair. AND you'll get a FREE FAIR TICKET (AND A PARKING PASS for the Ag-Hort Lot, depending on availability)!  Fair tickets and parking passes will be mailed about a week before the show. Questions or to sign up? Email Cheryl here.

SIGN UP to work with bonsai expert Guy Guidry who will be here over Labor Day weekend for our club workshops. Have a tree that needs professional advice? This will be your last chance for this year, so stop at the sign-up table for more information.

CHECK OUT the vendors, the library, the raffle prizes, and the coffee 'n cookies counter (feed the kitty when you fill up - we'll need more cookies next month).
