PICKING THE PERFECT POT
Program co-chair Terry Bishop says:

Since repotting time is upon us, our March program will be all about Bonsai pots. This will
include: history of pots, a slide show featuring some very old pots as well as newer pots, and
even some more modern concepts for the "new millennium."

Our featured speaker will be Tom Kedrok of Five Stone Garden Bonsai in Prior Lake. (If you
have not visited Tom's nursery you are missing out.) Tom will be covering many aspects of
bonsai pots including selection, color, shape, size, proportion, depth and more, as it relates to
the tree that you may want to display. He will also talk about some of the pottery artists who
are currently producing pots, including our own Sara Rayner in Red Wing.
Besides having a great facility and lots of trees to choose from, Tom has had many years in
the Bonsai world not only as a vendor, but more importantly, as an artist and teacher. He
hosts numerous classes from beginner to advanced students, and has quite a few years of
experience judging shows including the Iowa State Fair. Join us as Tom acts as our guide to
bonsai pottery.

And come earlier than 7:00 to see what the vendors have to offer, buy tickets for the raffle
prizes, ask for new stuff at the library table, and grab a beverage for the show.
“One of the delights known to age, and beyond the
grasp of youth, is that of Not Going.”
